Birmingham Trip

A pleasant and not to tedious train trip from Goring-by-Sea to Birmingham. First to Victoria then by underground to Euston and finally a Virgin train to New Street Birmingham. Arrived at around 2-30pm just in time to check in at the city centre hotel. The city has changed dramatically over the last 30 or so years since I last visited to install glass cubes at a store in the Bullring. High rise offices, apartments, and civic buildings have sprung up almost everywhere. Structures are still being built and old buildings demolished or adapted, depending on your point of view some tastefully and some not. The area around the Piazza and towards the Cathedral is a building site, it would be interesting to visit again in another 10 years.

Here are some images from in and around the city centre and canal area at Brindley Place.
